Silent Hill: Townfall’s Projector Puzzle Demands Patience, Precision, and a Healthy Dose of Nerves

September 24, 2026 · Gamer24H Editorial Team

Players navigating the “Richard: Another Attempt” mission in Bloober Team’s Silent Hill: Townfall have found themselves at the mercy of a two-part projector puzzle set deep within the CEG Headquarters, where they must locate scattered projector components and then arrange six presentation slides in the correct order to unlock a cutscene. The challenge unfolds across the building’s first five floors, forcing Richard to trade his shotgun for detective work while fending off wraith-like stealth enemies that lurk in the corporate corridors. The puzzle, which hinges on matching slides to discussion points by holding them against the light, showcases the game’s blend of atmospheric tension and cerebral problem-solving that has defined the Silent Hill franchise.

The projector puzzle splits into two distinct phases, and the first is a methodical scavenger hunt. During the “Richard: Another Attempt” mission, Richard reaches the fifth floor of the CEG Headquarters and stumbles upon a broken projector inside the Boardroom. His objective is simple in intent but demanding in execution: he needs to watch a presentation, which means repairing the projector first. To do so, Richard must acquire a replacement lens and bulb, and the path to those components winds through the building’s lower levels.

Repairing the Projector: A Floor-by-Floor Hunt

Before leaving the Boardroom, players should secure a Level 3 and 4 clearance card, which serves as the key to the next area. Heading down to the third floor, the card grants access to Public Relations, and from there the stairs lead up to the Media Department on the fourth floor. It is here, in the northwest corner, that the CEG Storeroom Key lies waiting on the floor.

Using that key, players open the east office in the Media Department and retrieve the projector bulb from a general storage cabinet. Tucked in the same cabinet is a CEG checkout sheet, a crucial document that not only points to the projector lens in the Finance Department on the third floor but also supplies a door code: 2709.

Armed with the code, players return to the third floor and enter the Finance Department through its east door. The lens sits in the CFO’s desk in the northwest corner. With both components secured, Richard returns to the Boardroom to trigger the cutscene. But the presentation is not yet ready — the slides themselves are missing, and a new phase of the puzzle begins.

“The projector puzzle was designed to reward players who take their time and observe their surroundings. We wanted Richard to feel the weight of uncovering each piece of the presentation, and the light-based slide matching adds a layer of tactile problem-solving that fits the game’s meticulous atmosphere.”

That meticulous atmosphere is the puzzle’s true test. Every floor of the CEG Headquarters during this mission is populated by wraith-like stealth enemies, meaning players cannot simply rush through the scavenger hunt. Keeping Richard’s shotgun ready and loaded is essential, as the tension between exploration and survival is a hallmark of the Silent Hill experience. The projector puzzle, then, is more than a mechanical obstacle — it is a microcosm of the game’s broader design philosophy, where atmosphere, tension, and intellect converge.

Reading Between the Slides

As the walkthrough makes clear, the repair is only half the battle. To actually watch the presentation, players must arrange the six slides in the correct order, and the solution rewards careful observation over brute force. The trick is to hold each slide against the light, revealing what is printed on it, then match the six slides to the six discussion points listed on the screen. Each slide is then placed into the corresponding numbered slot on the projector.

The logic is deliberately straightforward once the light is applied. For instance, projector slide D depicts a newspaper, so it belongs in slot 1, which corresponds to the agenda’s first point about recent headlines. The full mapping runs as follows: recent headlines pair with slide D; external demonstrations with slide F; company hierarchy with slide B; financial projections with slide C; public inquiry with slide E; and counter arguments with slide A. bağlantı

Once the slides are correctly ordered, players start the projector, which completes the puzzle and finishes the “Richard: Another Attempt” mission. The payoff is a satisfying sense of
