Sloclap’s 2022 martial arts action game Sifu can now be played on smartphones, following an announcement earlier this month. The French developer released the portable version today on Android and iOS.
The port is priced at $8 / £6, with Sloclap saying it was developed specifically for phone screens. New touch-based controls translate the game’s core moves to on-screen prompts, while environmental interactions have been streamlined.

A new adaptive camera works better on smaller displays, according to the developer. Sloclap said it worked to retain Sifu’s painterly look and its fluid, impactful combat for the mobile release, though controllers are also supported.

Judging by the trailer, the game looks like familiar Sifu, albeit with a softer image as a result of less powerful hardware.
Sifu was critically acclaimed and sold 1 million copies in its first three weeks of release. Previously a PlayStation and Epic 게임 Store exclusive, it made its way to Steam and Xbox a year later.
Sloclap followed Sifu with something altogether different: a third-person football game called Rematch. The game is also critically acclaimed and commercially successful, but its reveal left fans who were eager for a sequel to Silu disappointed.
While Sloclap continues to support Rematch, the studio’s future plans remain unknown. Its three developed games are all notably distinct: the debut title Absolver was a martial arts MMO, followed by the single-player kung fu game Sifu, and then the third-person football game in Rematch.
