After leaking last month during the Steam/Exophase achievement dump, Shrek 2: Remastered has received its first look as it prepares to bring the four-player co-op platformer to modern consoles. The reveal came from a leak of its own — Xbox accidentally posted the game’s store page too early, according to Kotaku.

The listing includes multiple screenshots, a pre-order trailer, and a lengthy description of the new features coming to the 2004 platformer. The game is getting “better textures, enhanced UI… and 4K resolution,” along with additions such as a Photo Mode and a Cheat Mode that lets players modify the game. It will support both local and online co-op.
A tie-in for Shrek 5?
The original Shrek 2 was published by Aspyr, which is now bringing the game back; the timing appears to coincide with Shrek 5, reportedly arriving next year. The remaster primarily follows the story of the 2004 film, though it includes segments that exist outside the movie.
The store page and pre-order trailer do not include a release date, but if the announcement is as imminent as it appears, players may learn when Shrek 2: Remastered launches soon.
