According to a report for Rock Paper Shotgun, Send in the Clown is a turn-based RPG comedy in which you play as Pockets, “a horrendously sad name for a clown” hired to perform at 12-year-old Miranda’s birthday party. The event is being ruined by her brother Tad, and your goal is to save the day by taking down that child.
The game centres on befriending everyone at the party through a range of minigames: teaching a single dad his dance moves via a rhythm game, helping an exhausted mum get “a much-needed break from parenting with Uncharted-style quick time events,” and hyping up an awkward shy kid. Once befriended, these characters join your party and can be used to fight Tad.
The whole thing culminates in a single battle, for which “an entire battle system was developed just for this one battle.” The bulk of the game is instead devoted to what the report calls “the delightfully silly prep work,” with the full experience lasting only about an hour. A note on the Steam page reads: “No artificial intelligence, or intelligence of any kind, was used in the making of this game.”

A demo is available, and the game can be wishlisted on its Steam page.
