The remake of the PS1 survival horror classic Silent Hill is targeting a PS5 release in 2027, according to a new MP1st report.

The website — which has proved increasingly reliable over the past 12 months — suggests Bloober Team and Konami are planning to release the remake next year. It also claims that Gabrielle Fritz and Jade Matthew are part of the voice cast.
Fritz has appeared in a number of TV shows, but in the video game space she’s lent her voice to Luna Abyss, Battlefield 2042, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Matthew, on the other hand, doesn’t appear to have starred in a video game before. She does, though, have credits in Torchwood: The Story Continues.
Casting details surrounding who will play Harry Mason, the original’s main character, haven’t surfaced yet.
For three years now, since Silent Hill 2 in 2024, Konami has released a new Silent Hill game every year. It has recently said this is deliberate, as it aims to annualise the series and release a new title each year. Despite those comments, I had expected the franchise to take a year off in 2027, as the Silent Hill remake is the only confirmed project the series currently has.
That apparently isn’t going to be the case, though, with Bloober Team targeting next year.
Back in August, franchise producer Motoi Okamoto said the firm aims to “have an annual release of new games”, and it has multiple unannounced projects currently in development to try and make that happen. Having the Silent Hill remake come out next year would continue that cadence, with more unconfirmed projects following it.
So far, all we’ve had from Bloober Team is a social media post confirming the remake is happening. Perhaps we’ll see more of the project before the year is out, at The Game Awards?
