Remedy Entertainment’s chief executive, Jean‑Charles Gaudechon, recently told Tech Radar that the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto 6 will “raise the tide” and inject fresh enthusiasm into the console market. Yet, from Remedy’s standpoint, the focus isn’t on recouping investments overnight but on building a sustainable, long‑term strategy.
“You can count on us delivering top‑tier quality. Our voice will cut through the noise,” Gaudechon assured, urging fans to anticipate a bold, unmistakable presence from the studio. He added that Remedy intends to be as loud as possible in hopes of sparking genuine interest.
Remedy’s community, active across social media, has taken to debating whether the console‑exclusive nature of GTA 6 will grant Control Resonant a freer hand on PC. While that freedom exists, it is limited by the sheer volume of attention that GTA 6 will command in the months following its launch.
During that period, every major platform—social media, YouTube, streaming services—will be saturated with content about Rockstar’s blockbuster. In such a climate, even a platform‑agnostic title like Control Resonant may struggle to maintain visibility.
Despite these challenges, I remain hopeful that Control Resonant will find its audience and showcase its imaginative, distinctive voice. I plan to dive into the game myself and anticipate enjoying it as much as I did the original. However, the decision to release it during the most crowded window in gaming history—mirroring EA’s ill‑fated strategy of dropping Titanfall 2 alongside Battlefield 1—could set the title up for a precarious start.
