Nintendo caught fans a bit off guard this weekend with both Pikmin news and a full Direct, prompting the studio to issue a reminder: Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy is receiving a free demo, available today.
The demo lets players freely explore the base game’s opening main area, the Sun-Speckled Terrace, and grants access to two of the challenges in the new Dandori Academy Switch 2 expansion. It is now live on the Switch eShop.
All save data from the demo will carry over to the full game, should players decide to pick it up on 12 November, meaning there is no need to replay the opening stage.
The surprise Pikmin Direct also unveiled new Pikmin Bloom features and introduced a new series of “Hello Pikmin” short films.
