For years, players have been puzzled by the silent disappearance of Destruction AllStars’ servers, a situation that Sony never formally addressed.

Today the mystery ends: the title is now fully disabled, and it has been removed from the PlayStation Store without any advance warning. Existing owners will still have access to Arcade Mode, but the online component is gone.

Analyse: Sony’s abrupt delisting underscores the growing trend of publishers withdrawing support for legacy titles, forcing players to confront the fragility of digital ownership and prompting discussions about preserving online services for aging games.

A notice posted to the game’s Nieuws Feed—discovered by vigilant community member Radec—states that Destruction Points will remain redeemable until November 25, which appears to satisfy Sony’s six‑month notice requirement despite the game having been effectively unplayable online for years.

Fans have been debating the situation on a PSNProfiles thread that dates back to 2024. With the official announcement now in place, the community finally has a definitive answer.

Lucid’s title was one of the first live‑service experiments on the PS5, yet it never managed to capture a lasting audience.

The developers attempted several reinventions, but the game lacked the durability and ongoing support required to keep players engaged. Sony’s decision to shut it down is unsurprising, though the communication surrounding the move could have been clearer.

With the servers now offline, the coveted Platinum Trophy will forever remain out of reach, and it’s unlikely that a patch will restore or replace the missing achievements.

While the game held promise, PlayStation’s experience across generations shows that a mediocre title cannot compete in an increasingly crowded online arena.
