To mark the 30th anniversary of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, the Pokémon Company has unveiled a collaboration with Fender Guitars. The partnership yields the Made in Japan Pokémon Red Version Stratocaster Electric Guitar and the Made in Japan Pokémon Green Version Telecaster Electric Guitar, both slated for release in 2027, with preorders opening “soon” per the Pokémon Company.
“These guitars not only feature an aesthetic combination of Fender’s classic style and old-school Pokémon pixel art, but they also include a time-warping toggle to 8-bit audio, perfect for transporting your tunes back to the past with a retro ring straight out of your first Game Boy,” the company said. “You’ll notice a special neck plate design celebrating Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, too, commemorating the collaboration between Pokémon and Fender!”

Elsewhere in the Pokémon universe, the animated film Pokémon: Wild Card was announced during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Pokémon World Championships, with a 2027 release date. Meanwhile, Pokémon Pokopia proved a major hit for Nintendo Switch 2 this year. Pokémon Unite, the MOBA battler, will be shut down on both Nintendo Switch and mobile on March 23, 2027, following the game’s final competition, the Aeos Crown 2027. As for an R-rated Pokémon horror movie, none has been announced, though it would be a welcome addition.
