Nintendo’s strong retail presence includes kiosks showcasing first-party titles. Stores may host a playable demo of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake in advance of the November 5th release date. Following a prior rumor, the Switch 2 game has now surfaced at Walmart.

On social media, Ace Trainer Johnson shared a picture of the modernized Link adventure on display. Instead of the Zelda 40th Anniversary console or controllers, the standard handheld and accessories are accessible. Unfortunately, it’s unclear whether it’s an interactive experience or one of several gameplay trailers.

Nintendo commentator Mike Odyssey earlier teased that a playable Ocarina of Time remake demo was headed to Target and Walmart. If players did get a chance to explore Hyrule ahead of its launch, it wouldn’t be surprising. The company offered in-store sneak peeks of Switch 2 games like Donkey Kong Bananza, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and Mario Tennis Fever.

On the other hand, time is running out before the Ocarina of Time release date. Mehr kiosks with the title may not appear until after pre-orders ship, targeting still wavering buyers. The prospect of a downloadable eShop demo also seems bleak, based on past first-party projects.

What Ocarina previews have hinted

If kiosks aren’t available, players will have to rely on media impressions. On October 14th, a barrage of previews from websites and YouTube channels arrived. After rumors that the Switch 2 game would attend a Holiday Showcase in New York City, journalists were able to go hands-on.

The previews reassured fans that the modernized visuals and controls made it worth revisiting the N64 Zelda classic. Despite tweaks like manual jumping, the remake captured the original’s spirit. That said, testers couldn’t confirm whether any dungeons were significantly expanded.

Nintendo likely won’t need an Ocarina of Time demo to notch record-setting sales. Amazon pre-orders are on a blistering pace, bolstered by the textured foil-cover physical version and discounts.
