The co-op adventure game blew up on Steam”>Peak has been leaked for PlayStation 5 following an Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) listing.
According to a report by Cade Onder for IGN, the ESRB has rated Peak for PS5. Historically, ESRB listings are highly reliable indicators of upcoming releases, suggesting an official announcement may be imminent.

Peak released last year as an inexpensive co-op title in which players team up with friends to navigate deadly obstacles while attempting to climb extremely tall mountains. The game relies on teamwork and a limited set of tools to overcome challenges, often resulting in comedic deaths and mishaps.
Peak has sold over 10 million copies”>As of August 2025, Peak has sold over 10 million copies, partly attributed to its $8 price tag making it an easy purchase for groups of friends.
It remains unclear whether the game will also arrive on Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2. While the console listing currently points exclusively to PS5, a release limited solely to PlayStation would be surprising given the title’s co-op focus.
team noted that there’s a psychology behind pricing a game that low”>Following the game’s release, the team noted that there’s a psychology behind pricing a game that low. Peak co-creator Nick Kaman explained the reasoning:
“We had this joke of, like, ‘How much is a game really?’ In a player’s mind, what does it mean to spend five bucks? Well, that’s five bucks. But six bucks? Well, that’s still five bucks. Four bucks is also kind of five bucks. Three bucks is two bucks. And two bucks is basically free.”
Nick Kaman, Peak co-creator
“So we’ve got these tiers… But thirteen dollars is fifteen dollars. And we found that eight dollars is still five dollars. It doesn’t become ten dollars. Seven ninety nine, that’s five dollars, right? So, eight dollars going to five dollars is the biggest differential we could find in pricing, so we found it very optimal.”
For new players hoping to join before the console release, Peak concluded its post-launch support earlier this summer. As a result, significant content updates are unlikely following the console version’s launch.
It is also unclear whether the game will retain its exceptionally low price on consoles, though it would be surprising if the developers changed their pricing approach.
The timing of an official announcement remains unconfirmed, but an ESRB rating typically signals that a release is approaching.
