World of Warcraft Forever has surpassed one million characters created since entering beta last month, according to data tracked by the community website classicplus.io.
The site snapshots data from WoW Forever and reports that 1,003,125 characters have been made in Classic Plus mode so far. Creating a character requires access to the beta, which is primarily obtained by purchasing the $30 Skyborne pack.

The milestone comes before the game’s full launch on November 4. Players currently accessing the beta only have limited parts of the world available, with the level cap set at level 30. Characters will be wiped when the full game launches next month, meaning everything earned during beta testing disappears.

The achievement is notable given that WoW once peaked at 12 million players 16 years ago. Blizzard developers were reportedly surprised by the game’s popularity even as it entered beta, with one developer describing the numbers as “the craziest” they had ever seen.
The release has not been without controversy. Blizzard has cracked down on player names, leading some to believe they have been unfairly targeted bağlantı, and is also targeting gold selling in a move that has swept up some WoW streamers bağlantı.
At the same time, Blizzard added the “Kyle’s Gone Missing” quest — originally introduced with Burning Crusade — which players have welcomed.
The game is set to launch two weeks before Grand Theft Automaattinen 6. The article notes there likely would be little crossover between the two titles.
