Back in July, Purexbox reported on Xbox’s intent to bring achievements to ‘select’ original Xbox games sometime this year. Well, it appears an early glimpse of this has been spotted online.
Multiple posts from X/Twitter users are claiming that original Xbox titles such as Psychonauts, Destroy All Humans, Star Wars Republic Commando, and various others are showing up on their Achievements page on console.
From the looks of it, implementation is still some ways off as each game appears to show “0/0” achievements earned. It could be Xbox hasn’t officially created achievements for these games yet, or possibly that they’re showing up by mistake.
However, as mentioned, we know that Xbox has definitely confirmed achievements are on their way to ‘select’ original Xbox games. It’s just a matter of when and which ones.
“We plan to add even more features to XBOX Backward Compatibility games in the future. I’m excited to share that later this year we will be bringing one of the top fan-requested features to select original XBOX games on both console and PC: Achievements.”

In any case, achievements on OG Xbox titles are very exciting. I can already see myself going back into BLiNX: The Time Sweeper for the Mythic. Backward Compatibility has already had a pretty awesome year so far, adding Blinxy-boy alongside Fuzion Frenzy, Crimson Skies, and Conker to PC for the first time ever.
