Players of Modern Warfare 4 hunting for a weapon that can recapture the glory days of the Kar98k may have found exactly what they were after, as this meta Marksman Rifle boasts devastating quickscoping potential.
Since Modern Warfare 4 launched on October 23, players have been experimenting with different weapons and attachments to find the strongest loadouts.
While Assault Rifles and SMGs tend to dominate the early meta, there is always room for something a little different, especially for players who prefer landing flashy one-shot kills.
According to Call of Duty YouTuber WhosImmortal, the Oris 8.6 Marksman Rifle could be one of the most exciting weapons in the game, particularly for anyone who remembers using the Kar98k in Modern Warfare 2019.
MW4’s Oris 8.6 is a quickscoping monster
In a video breaking down some of his favourite MW4 loadouts, WhosImmortal highlighted the Oris 8.6 as a weapon with an exceptionally high skill ceiling. It can one-shot players up to around 25 meters, but requires great accuracy to get the most out of it.
“This is the Oris 8.6 Marksman, and this is my quick scope build, and this thing is nuts,” he explained before sharing his build:
- Barrel: EXP Ripper 7.75″
- Laser: XRK Clutch-LS
- Bolt: Lightfire-5 Quick
- Rear Grip: OPS-45 XP Grip
- Stock: No Stock
“If you are a fan of playing like a spammy, fast, run-and-gun quickscope style, this is the go-to sniper or marksman,” WhosImmortal added. “If you liked the Kar98K in Modern Warfare 2019, this is the equivalent to it in this game.”
“If you’re trying to go for clips and get a bunch of one-shots back to back, this setup is kind of crazy, also kind of goofy at the same time.”

He even compared the build’s close-range potential to carrying two weapons at once.
“As goofy as this might look, it is a gun that is highly effective at being a shotgun and a marksman in one basically.”
Of course, its reliance on accurate shots means it won’t suit everyone, but for confident quickscopers, the Oris 8.6 could become a firm favourite.
