The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time may not be Nintendo’s next Switch 2 exclusive (fear not, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, you haven’t been forgotten), but with its 5th November release date fast approaching, the marketing campaign is now in full swing.

New trailers, shorts and TV spots are popping up everywhere at the moment, and a fresh “Art thou ready?” shared by Nintendo UK has left us thoroughly pumped—and unexpectedly reminded of the original N64 game’s ads from the ’90s.
The new trailer (above) doesn’t include any fresh footage, but the whole thing is utterly badass. It intercuts scenes from the game with blazing text screens posing questions such as “Art thou going to flee? Or fight?” while bombastic brass tunes blare in the background. How could that not get you excited?
All of this plays on the original release’s TV trailers, let’s not forget. Those used a similarly over-the-top backing track (from Conan, no less) and the same fiery text flare, controversially sporting the tagline, “Art thou going to get the girl? Or play like one?” — later changed to “Art thou going to soar? Or art thou going to suck?” for obvious reasons. We’ve linked one such original trailer below, so you can spot the similarities for yourself.
For a game like Ocarina of Time, it feels only fitting that Nintendo leans hard into the nostalgia for the marketing—who doesn’t get a bit misty-eyed thinking about their first time playing it, eh? Just a few weeks to go before we get to dive back in once again!
