Those reading the re-release of Steins;Gate this week may want to keep a close eye on Japanese developer MAGES’ latest effort, Seeker Eye.

The game is due for release in Japan on 25 February, and while there is no word yet on an English localisation, the writer is fairly confident it will eventually make its way overseas.
It is described as an “occult suspense” adventure, a genre the writer says is “basically catnip to my ears.”
The story centres on the editor of a supernatural magazine, who digs deeper into the events of a ghost story he finds particularly suspicious.
While this is a visual novel — meaning players will spend most of their time reading — a gameplay mechanic will allow them to peek into the private lives of characters caught up in the aforementioned tale.
The game will feature over 1,000 pieces of artwork, which MAGES says is more than the average visual novel. It also features an all-star development team, including Chaos;Child scenario writer Ryou Yasumoto.
Players can check out the opening movie embedded above for a glimpse of how stylish this is shaping up to be, and the writer says they will try to get word on whether a western release is planned.
