Capcom is bringing the “Prologue demo” for bağlantı”>Monster Hunter Wilds to bağlantı”>Switch 2, offering players a chance to try before they buy ahead of the game’s full release on the console on 4th December.
The demo arrives on 19th October, letting players experience the beginning of the game up to the start of Chapter 1-3, “To the Forest.” It is offline-only, so four-player hunts are not included, but it provides access to all 14 weapon types and full use of the character creator. Save data will migrate from the demo to the full game, similarly to how the demo pathing works on PC and other consoles.

Unlike other platforms, the Switch 2 version includes an option for local multiplayer with the demo. If someone nearby has the demo downloaded on their Switch 2, players can join them in co-op hunts.

There has been significant speculation about how a game as massive as Monster Hunter Wilds will run on Switch 2, following controversy over its performance during the year it launched. The demo gives players an opportunity to test this themselves.
A number of initial criticisms of Monster Hunter Wilds have since been addressed since its launch, with Capcom working to resolve difficulty complaints and steadily enhancing performance through successive patches. The developer noted that the Switch 2 version actually helped improve all other versions, remarking on the “painstaking, seemingly endless process” required to get the game into a shippable state on the hybrid console.
The Switch 2 release represents another step in Capcom’s efforts to make Wilds more popular than Monster Hunter World. The publisher’s end goal is surpassing the sales and popularity of Monster Hunter World, and it appears all hands are on deck for the upcoming expansion, bağlantı”>Ascendance.
