Get ready for some serious slaps! YouTube superstar Charles “MoistCr1TiKaL” White is bringing his hilariously violent comic book series, “Godslap,” to the big screen with a full-length animated movie slated for release in 2028. The first teaser trailer dropped on September 3rd, 2026, showcasing slick animation and smooth artwork courtesy of Powerhouse Animation, the studio behind acclaimed titles like Castlevania: Nocturne and Masters of the Universe: Revelation.
Aius’s Slapping Adventure Begins
As revealed in a YouTube video, the “Godslap” movie follows Aius, a young man blessed (or cursed?) with the “incredibly strong gift of slapping.” His father, Darius, is understandably overprotective, fearing the potential consequences of Aius unleashing his power on the world. The first teaser offers a glimpse into this unique and potentially chaotic universe.
“He is now, for the first time, venturing out from his farm where his father Darius has been kind of an overbearing ahole trying to keep him away from the rest of the world out of fear for what that power could do,” White explained in his announcement.
From Dream to Reality: A Decade in the Making
The journey to bring “Godslap” to life has been a long one. White initially approached Powerhouse Animation back in 2018, but the sheer cost of such an ambitious project proved daunting. He had to put his dream on hold, resigning himself to the reality that adapting his comic into an animated movie might be financially impossible.
However, three years ago, Powerhouse reached out again, expressing renewed interest in bringing “Godslap” to life, even though the comic was still about two years away from being fully completed. This time, White was ready to make it happen.
A Passion Project: White’s Commitment
White plans a theatrical release for the “Godslap” movie, making it the second major influencer-led project to hit theaters after Markiplier’s indie horror game adaptation, Iron Lung, earlier this year. He revealed that he is the “sole financier” of the project and has been “involved every single step of the way.”
“This has been one of the biggest dreams I’ve had since I was a child, and I believe in it so strongly that I’ve been putting my money where my ck is — millions, in order to bring this project to life and make it as big, as special, as unique as it can possibly be,” he said.

White promises to share more information in the coming months, including details about the voice cast, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and other exciting updates. Speaking with Deadline, Lyrical Animation’s Creative Director, Daniel Dominguez, expressed his studio’s long-standing admiration for White.
“Getting the opportunity to bring his anime-inflected, hilariously violent comic Godslap to life was a dream come true,” he said. “It’s one of the funniest, most non-stop surprising, and thematically urgent comics to come out in the last decade, and a perfect story to adapt as an animated feature.”
White’s Animation History
While this is his first major project as a producer, White has already dipped his toes into the world of animation. Gamers may recognize him as the voice of Sonar id Adhoc’s Dispatch, and anime fans might remember that he voiced a character in Netflix’s Baki series.
