Microsoft has announced the Xbox Nano Controller, a more compact and rectangular version of its standard Xbox controller designed for portability and gamers with smaller hands. The device is available to preorder now from multiple retailers and will release on November 4 for $49.99.
All the regular Xbox buttons are accounted for, but the form factor is smaller than the standard controller. It measures just over five inches long and weighs a mere 3.5 ounces, according to Microsoft.

Microsoft says the controller supports “all 18 standard gameplay inputs.” It also includes a rechargeable battery and a programmable Action Button—the small Tic-Tac-shaped button in the middle—that Microsoft says “can be customized for features like screenshots, gameplay capture, and other frequently used shortcuts.”

Thanks to its Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth capabilities, it works with all the same devices as a regular Xbox controller, including Xbox, PC, Mac, and mobile devices.
The standard Xbox controller features grips that fit larger hands comfortably, while the Nano has grips designed to slide into a pocket. The device comes in a white-and-black color scheme with colorful ABXY face buttons. Its sticks appear slightly shorter than those on the standard controller, but the disc-style D-pad looks the same.
