Award-winning composer Mick Gordon has announced plans to take his live performances of the Doom and Doom Eternal soundtracks on a worldwide tour, following two confirmed festival appearances.

In an interview with IGN at PAX Australia this past weekend, Gordon explained that his scheduled shows are not one-off events. The composer will headline the UK’s RADAR festival on August 1, 2027, performing with a band and live orchestra, before traveling to the Czech Republic for the Brutal Assault Festival days later.

“The two that we’ve announced are this headline show for RADAR, which is going to be on August 1, 2027,” Gordon said. “That’s going to be me with a band and a live orchestra playing music from Doom and Doom Eternal and some other stuff.”

Gordon described the Brutal Assault Festival as taking place in a medieval castle, featuring bands such as Children of Bodom, Knocked Loose, and Humanity’s Last Breath at what he called “a really, really incredible 25,000-people metal festival.”

Gordon said that after the RADAR show was announced, he began receiving offers from European metal festivals. He and his agency are discussing taking the production worldwide over the next two years.

“[After the RADAR show was announced] I instantly started getting offers from the European metal festival circuit,” Gordon said. “My agency and I are talking about doing this for the next two years. There are a number of [events] across the whole world that we’re hoping to take this show [to]. So there’s going to be a lot of news coming on that front.”

The composer expressed enthusiasm for performing Doom tracks such as “Rip & Tear,” “BFG Division,” and “At Doom’s Gate” before live festival crowds, promising an experience distinct from typical video game soundtrack concerts.

“For a long time I’ve wanted to take what I find really exciting about videogame music and marry it with what I find really exciting about a live rock and metal show,” Gordon said. “I know there are people that have done [live performances] where [the audience] will sit down and wear nice clothes and listen to [their] favourite music played by an orchestra, and that’s fantastic, don’t get me wrong. But nobody has done this thing where you have this massive circle mosh pit with videogame music.”

Gordon added: “Through an incredible set of wonderful, universe-grifting circumstances, I found myself best positioned to be the one [to deliver that experience].”

In the meantime, Gordon’s work can be heard on the soundtrack to Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, which releases October 14 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version arriving at a later date.
