Turns out the “ghost NIC” warnings were just my old spoof script fighting with the driver binding order—reverted to the default MAC assignment the way you all suggested and everything stabilized. The real fix wasn’t more aggressive HWID tricks like rewriting the SSD serial or UUID, it was actually leaving the hardware identifiers alone so they matched across the board. Learned my lesson with overcomplicating things; simpler really was better here.
