Historically the whole “strip everything for FPS” mindset came from the XP/Win7 era where you could gut an install and gain meaningful headroom, but that logic doesn’t transfer cleanly to Win10/11. The reality is that raw latency (input lag, frame pacing) has almost nothing to do with total service count and everything to do with background I/O churn, interrupt handling, and scheduler behavior. Blindly nuking components with a debloat script often backfires—you’ll kill Telemetry and User Experience services you don’t care about, but you can also break Xbox Gaming Services, VBCmnService, or the WMI provider host, which then causes stutter and driver timeouts mid-match.
