Lily BaileyMemberGreat topic to dissect. The key thing most people miss is that MPRT and GtG measure two fundamentally different things, so comparing them head-to-head is a bit apples-to-oranges. GtG is the panel’s actual pixel transition speed—this is your ground truth for ghosting and inverse-ghosting artifacts. What people don’t realize is that most manufacturer GtG specs are cherry-picked from the easiest transitions (often mid-tone to mid-tone), while the Full-On/Full-Off (FOFO) grey transitions are what actually matter in competitive play and are dramatically slower. If you’re benchmarking properly, you want to look at the 0→255 and 255→0 transitions using a probe like a PlanetCash or a high-speed sensor, not just trust the spec sheet. Overdrive tuning is critical here too—push it too aggressive and you’ll see inverse ghosting (halos trailing behind fast objects),

Lily BaileyMemberHonestly, most people overweight how much debloating actually helps competitive latency. Stripping a Windows ISO via ADK’s DISM or dism++ can shave boot time and reduce background CPU wakes, but the real win for competitive play comes from service management, not removing store apps. The services worth auditing are genuinely useful to disable if you know what they do: SysMain (formerly Superfetch) if you’re on SSD it rarely helps and can cause random stutter, Connected Standby/Modern Standby power states, and the Xbox Accessory Management Service if you don’t use Xbox app features. But be careful with Windows Update, BITS, and Security Health Service — killing those outright gets you into a broken update/defender loop that causes far worse microstalls than any bloat.

Lily BaileyMemberHere’s where I think the real paradigm split happened, and it’s not just aesthetic.
