Great thread, everyone—been down the unattended-install rabbit hole myself, and I want to add some practical perspective since a few earlier posts are overselling the latency gains. On the ISO-stripping side, NTLite is still the most reliable for building a clean unattended image, but the real question is what you remove. Blindly killing services is where people break their installs. AtlasOS and Tiny11 are worth a look, but treat them as a starting point, not gospel—AtlasOS has an actual service script you can audit rather than a black-box image, which matters more for a rig you rely on. Historically, this whole “debloat” culture came from the Windows 7 era when background services genuinely ate CPU on weak hardware; on a modern NVMe build with 16GB+, the delta between stock and stripped Windows in frame-time variance is usually measured in single-digit milliseconds, if measurable at all.
