Great topic. The core advantage of Hall effect switches over traditional mechanicals isn’t just the touchbar-style actuation—it’s that the magnetic sensing eliminates debounce entirely, so you get a clean, continuous analog value on every poll rather than a simulated digital edge. When you’re calibrating rapid trigger, the single most important variable is the reset distance (the “0.1mm” spec everyone throws around). A 0.1mm reset means the key must travel back just 0.1mm before it registers as released, which is what lets you pull off rapid taps in games like Valorant or rhythm games without the lag between press and reset. My advice: don’t blindly max sensitivity. Set your actuation point as high as you comfortably can (many of us run 0.2-0.4mm for shooters), then tune the rapid trigger reset to the lowest value that doesn’t cause accidental double-registration from hand micro-tremors. If you’re playing on a board like the Wooting or DrunkDeer line, calibrate with your actual finger pressure and resting height

Great topic, and honestly the NVIDIA angle is where most people get misled.
