On the historical side, the real paradigm shift wasn’t the TPM itself—it was the moment kernel-level anti-cheat started demanding Secure Boot as a gate rather than a nice-to-have. Titles like Riot Vanguard and Easy Anti-Cache-based shooters require Secure Boot enabled because they need to load at Ring 0 with a guaranteed code-signing chain, and they validate that chain against the UEFI signature database (PK → KEK → db) so unsigned third-party drivers can’t hide hooks. TPM 2.
