Great topic — I’ve hit more than my share of these attestation errors mid-tournament, so let me lay out where things usually break. The core issue most people miss is that Secure Boot and TPM attestation aren’t just “on or off” switches; they’re a chain of trust. Your UEFI firmware seals measurements into Plataforma Configuration Registers (PCRs) during measured boot, and Secure Boot verifies each stage against the db/dbx signature store before handing off. Anti-cheat systems like Vanguard or FACEIT’s AC don’t just check “is Secure Boot enabled” — they often validate the PCR bank state and cross-reference it against the Secure Boot key enrollment. The #1 failure mode I see is custom Secure Boot keys: if someone enrolls their own Plataforma Key instead of using the manufacturer’s OEM keys, the attestation chain is technically intact but the anti-cheat’s allowlist rejects it as “untrusted vendor.” Disabling Secure Boot entirely is obvious, but the sneaky one is enabling it and then clearing the keys without re-enrolling — you get a partial chain that fails PCR validation.

For debugging, don’t start in the anti-cheat client — start at the firmware and Windows layers. In BIOS/UEFI confirm Secure Boot is
