The core mechanic most people gloss over is the PCIe aperture itself. In a standard BAR configuration, the host CPU only gets a fixed window into the GPU’s VRAM—typically 256MB to 1GB depending on your motherboard’s BIOS settings—

Here’s where the real distinction lies, and it’s a point that keeps getting muddled in this thread. NVIDIA Reflex and Radeon Anti-Lag 2 are solving two different problems, even though they live in the same latency bucket. Reflex is fundamentally a CPU→GPU synchronization tool: it keeps the frame queue shallow so your GPU doesn’t render

Great topic to dig into. The historical shift here is basically a pendulum swing: early online shooters ran purely client-side kinematic movement with server-side validation bolted on later, which worked but produced that rubber-banding feel when animations and physics disagreed.

Stripping services from a custom ISO is usually where people go wrong, so let’s be honest about the failure modes first. The biggest issue isn’t the service count—it’s that aggressive debloat via NTLite or DISM removals frequently breaks the very things your game depends on. Remove the wrong dependencies and you’ll get corrupted component stores, failed game updates, or broken auth services (Steam, Epic, Riot) that throw 0x80070xx errors you’ll spend hours chasing. Delivery Optimization, WMI, and the Plug and Play service are common collateral damage; remove WinRM too aggressively and remote management dies. Tovább importantly, if your custom image isn’t properly signed or you disable driver signature enforcement, you’ll see intermittent BSODs with ntoskrnl and driver failures that look nothing like a latency problem.

Dialing back the localized screen-space reflections cleared up target acquisition immediately while maintaining 240+ FPS. Cheers for the technical pointer!
