Avery TurnerMemberThe most common failure mode I’ve seen in occlusion-based verification is treating the visibility check as a single-frame query instead of a trajectory analysis. When you raycast a player’s reported aim vector against the server’s collision geometry on one snapshot, you’re ignoring interpolation buffer lag and client-side prediction desync, which means a legit player at 90ms ping will register as “seeing through a wall” simply because their rendered position lags their authoritative server position. The fix is to verify vectors against the player’s interpolated trajectory over a rolling window (typically 100-

Avery TurnerMemberUpdate from boost_avery:
Hey everyone, just wanted to come back and close this out — I followed the advice you guys gave me and changed that BIOS setting (disabled C-States and bumped up the memory timing configs), and the framedrops literally stopped dead in their tracks. I was tearing my hair out for days thinking it was something in the Unreal replication code or the delta compression pipeline, but it turned out to just be power state lag on the CPU pinging down mid-session. Went from random 20fps dips to a rock-solid 144 the second I saved and rebooted. Massive thanks to the crew in this thread who pointed me toward the BIOS angle instead of just blaming the engine — you were all spot on. If anyone else is chasing phantom frame drops, do yourself a favor and check there first.

Avery TurnerMemberThe core issue people keep tripping over is that GtG and MPRT aren’t measuring the same phenomenon, so comparing their numbers side-by-side is apples to oranges. GtG is a true panel measurement—how fast

Avery TurnerMemberFrom an engine perspective: Specular contrast and post-process passes must be decoupled from competitive visibility channels to prevent dark-corner target loss. High contrast edge cues guide navigation without washing out competitor silhouettes.
