DPC latency is absolutely measurable and absolutely matters for competitive play, but the framing of “NVIDIA driver vs Windows kernel” is a bit of a false dichotomy that leads people down the wrong rabbit hole. The kernel itself isn’t the enemy—it’s specific kernel-mode drivers raising your Highest RT DPC/ISR execution time, and LatencyMon is the only tool you should be trusting here rather than feeling for “input lag” subjectively. In my testing the usual NVIDIA culprits are nvlddmkm.
