Arc System Works and Sony Interactive Entertainment have unveiled the remaining Year 1 DLC characters for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, debuting them at EVO France. The first fighter to arrive after Phoenix Cyclops is an unexpected choice: instead of adding Thor Odinson, developers brought in Jane Foster’s Thor.
The trailer introducing Jane Foster as a fighter also revealed the full Year 1 DLC schedule. Phoenix Cyclops launches on Nov. 2, followed by Thor (Jane Foster) in Winter 2027, Venom in Spring, and X-Men character Jubilee in Summer. The roster draws from different corners of the Marvel universe.
The trailer did not feature gameplay for Jane Foster’s Thor but showed her confronting Loki on the game’s Asgard stage. She is not new to playable video game status, having appeared as one of Marvel’s Avengers’ last post-launch characters in 2022.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls has shown a willingness to subvert expectations with its roster picks, featuring Shuri’s Black Panther rather than T’Challa’s and the Phoenix Force-infused Cyclops instead of the regular version. Venom is described as a more mainstream pull, joining the game alongside a new Klyntar stage.
