Wizards of the Coast has unveiled a fresh wave of high-value collectibles with its upcoming Magic: The Gathering set, Reality Fracture, as prerelease pricing reveals chase cards ranging from roughly $200 to an eye-watering $1,000. Released during the prerelease weekend of September 26-27 ahead of a full launch on October 2, the expansion introduces Jace Beleren’s “Echoverse” concept—a multiversal reimagining that revamps legendary spells and creatures from across Magic’s history into new iterations.
The set arrives amid one of the most demanding release schedules in recent memory. With back-to-back Universes Beyond campaigns through the Marvel universe and Middle-earth already behind it, and a Star Trek collaboration slated for November, Reality Fracture offers players something distinctly rooted in Magic’s own multiverse rather than licensed properties.
A Multiversal “What If?” Concept
The Echoverse functions as a sort of alternate reality where Jace Beleren has reshaped existence to his will, granting familiar cards new treatments and mechanics. This framing explains the set’s signature visual treatment, Facet Foil, which appears on nearly every high-value card in the current pricing landscape alongside traditional Showcase variants.
The most coveted card is Omnipresence at $1,000, an Echoverse reworking of the classic Omniscience spell. Whereas the original blue version allows players to cast spells without paying their mana costs, this green iteration lets players cast spells with a mana value less than or equal to the number of creatures they control for free—a strategy that rewards flooding the battlefield with cheap tokens.

The Echoverse is a sort of “What If?” for the Magic multiverse. Jace reshaped reality to his will, and that means famous spells, creatures, and more are getting a revamp.

Mid-Tier Chase Cards Dominate Pricing
Beneath the flagship Omnipresence sits a cluster of premium cards commanding $300 to $600. Hexhaven Invigorator, a four-cost green Chimera Horror that converts damage dealt into lands, has sold for as much as $850 despite listing around $562. The Curse-Marred Demon, an Echoverse version of Rune-Scarred Demon, marks the first card on the list to breach the $500 threshold.

The mid-range features several mechanically intriguing options. Kwia Vigorbloom reworks Strixhaven’s Elder Dragons into Hexhaven’s Elder Sphinxes as a 6/6 with flying, vigilance, lifelink, and ward 2 that generates mana tokens when players gain life. Emrakul, the Exigent Doom offers an Echoverse take on the Eldrazi favorite, untapping all lands while placing a 12/12 onto the battlefield.
Affordable Entry Points
At the lower end of the spectrum, Rise of the Deathbringer leads as a five-cost instant that draws cards in exchange for life or shrinks creatures by -3/-3, currently trading around $200 despite one buyer paying double. Craterclaw Colossus serves as a mono-red alternative to Craterhoof Behemoth, offering haste and trample amplified by artifact count.

The set’s physical availability has already become constrained. Reality Fracture arrived in prerelease last weekend with full launch on October 2, but Amazon currently reports out-of-stock status across all product lines including Play Booster Boxes, Bundles, Collector Boosters, Draft Night packs, and Commander Precons.
Players seeking sealed products must now turn to alternative retailers such as Walmart, Target, Best Buy, or resellers on TCGplayer. Building collections remains most efficient through Play Boosters, with a box available at Amazon for $164.70 containing 30 packs and an estimated 60+ legendary cards per box across the set’s 420 total cards.
Looking Ahead
Pricing dynamics are expected to shift dramatically as the official October 2 launch approaches, with prerelease values historically fluctuating based on competitive viability and scarcity. Wizards of the Coast plans to update pricing data in the days following release as secondary markets stabilize around actual play value.
