Level Infinite is pulling out all the stops at gamescom this year. The video game publisher, a division of Tencent, is bringing a whirlwind of activity to Cologne, Germany, with playable demos, major announcements, and unforgettable fan experiences centered around titles like Control Resonant, Dune: Awakening, Hunt: Showdown 1896, and more.

Exclusive Gamescom Reveal: Hunt: Showdown 1896

In an exclusive interview with Level Infinite’s Senior Director of Marketing, Anthony Croutts, we got a sneak peek at the company’s ambitious plans for gamescom. “This year, we have some truly exciting announcements,” Croutts revealed. “We’re showcasing both brand-new titles and expanding the reach of already successful releases onto new platforms.”

IGN can exclusively reveal that gamescom 2026 will feature a significant update for Level Infinite and Crytek’s Hunt: Showdown 1896. Check out the teaser above, and tune in to IGN’s gamescom coverage on Wednesday, August 26th, for the full reveal.

“They’re making a major announcement at gamescom,” Croutts explained. “It’s a fresh, unique experience, and having that gameplay available and engaging with gamers is incredibly important to the development team. It’s going to be awesome.”

Beyond the reveal, players will have the rare opportunity to play Hunt: Showdown 1896 alongside the developers at the Level Infinite gamescom booth. This provides invaluable direct feedback and allows the team to gauge player reactions in real-time.

“This is an opportunity you don’t get every day,” Croutts emphasized. “It’s a learning experience for the devs. They want to ensure players are enjoying the game and seeing that immediate reaction from the gaming community. They have some major rebalancing planned, and they want to see how it plays out in the wild.”

Level Infinite’s Gamescom Booth: A Hub of Gaming Action

In addition to Hunt: Showdown 1896, Level Infinite’s gamescom experience will feature three other major releases, alongside cosplayers, giveaways, exclusive merchandise, and plenty of photo opportunities.

“As soon as you walk into Hall 6, you’re going to see Level Infinite in a big way,” Croutts said. “You’re going to see all the different experiences front and center. And then you can go to the different booth areas. Control Resonant, Hunt: Showdown, and Dune: Awakening are right there, ready for you to engage with.

“We’re also giving away a ton of cool free stuff. You get a card at the entrance that has all the games listed. As you visit each area, you get a stamp, and you can earn more freebies. We want to guide people through the experience, but if you’ve come for a specific game, it’s right there, front and center. You can see everything as soon as you enter the booth.”

Control Resonant: Experience the Beginning

One of the most enticing activities at Level Infinite’s gamescom booth involves Control Resonant. Players will have the chance to experience the first hour of gameplay, a unique opportunity to get hands-on with the highly anticipated sequel before its release next month.

A steel replica of Dylan’s hammer from Control Resonant will be on display at Level Infinite’s gamescom booth.

“For Control Resonant, the biggest draw is the game itself,” Croutts said. “Users will be able to experience the first hour of gameplay, which is something new. They’re getting an extensive session as a hands-on experience. That’s always big at gamescom. The trailer is great, but having that hands-on gameplay is special.”

In addition to playing the game, fans can also have their photo taken with a full-size replica of Dylan’s hammer, “The Aberrant,” from Control Resonant. This impressive prop, crafted from solid steel by a professional blacksmith, will be prominently displayed at the Level Infinite booth.

“It’s that level of immersion we’re aiming for,” Croutts explained. “We’re not just about waiting in line to play a demo and then moving on. It’s about creating an immersive experience with photo opportunities, cosplayers, and exclusive merchandise you can only get at gamescom.”

Dune: Awakening: A New Era on Consoles

Another highlight is the console version of Funcom’s Dune: Awakening. While available on PC since last June, players haven’t experienced it on other platforms until now. The first taste of the console edition, launching September 22nd and featuring a new single-player “solo mode,” will be live at gamescom.

“The studio has added enhancements to this version to take full advantage of the consoles,” Croutts said. “They’re incorporating lessons learned from the PC version, optimizing everything for a superior console experience.”

“With a new Dune movie on the horizon, this is the perfect opportunity not only to stay relevant but also to showcase how the game is evolving and improving over time. Where else can you immerse yourself in the Dune universe in such a curated world? You can truly lose yourself in it. And the solo mode will really enhance that experience. The game is constantly evolving, getting better every month, with new additions designed to make it unique and deliver on the promise of an immersive Dune experience.”

Bohemia Interactive’s Cosmo Tales: A Glimpse into the Future

“We’ll leave that for Bohemia to explain,” Croutts said about a trailer from Bohemia Interactive’s Cosmo Tales. “But one of the cool things about Bohemia is their full lineup. Cosmo Tales is a title everyone’s really excited about. They have some exciting announcements planned, and I know the new trailer will look fantastic. I’ve seen a glimpse of it, and it’s truly something special.”

While Croutts expressed excitement about showcasing these major games at gamescom, he hinted that there are still surprises in store for attendees. He emphasized the strength of the overall lineup as the key to drawing people to their booth and encouraging them to tune in to multiple reveals throughout the week.

“At the end of the day, everyone wants to show their best,” Croutts said. “Gamescom is the biggest global gaming show left. We’re excited that the majority of our content will be playable and hands-on. You’ll truly get to experience it at a high quality level.”
