According to a report, leaker MEGAsizeGPU has asserted that Nvidia is shifting production of its GB202 GPU dies away from the top-end RTX 5090 consumer graphics card and toward the company’s RTX Pro range. The claim comes via Digital Foundry.
MEGsizeGPU, who has a track record of accurately predicting Nvidia product moves—including heralding the company’s willingness to combine “Ti” and “Super” into a single GPU name—made the assertion as of now unconfirmed by Nvidia itself.
From breathtaking architectural and industrial design to advanced special effects, complex scientific visualizations, and AI tasks like fine-tuning large language models and running local AI assistants, the Nvidia RTX Pro platform is the heart of the world’s most powerful and efficient professional computing solutions. And as AI agents take on more work, RTX Pro runs them locally and securely—automating repetitive tasks, compressing iteration cycles, and accelerating demanding enterprise workloads.

The RTX Pro cards form part of Nvidia’s GPU range aimed at “accelerating professional AI, graphics, rendering, and compute workloads.” The company has not confirmed the reported shift in die allocation as of writing.

If accurate, this would mark another instance of a gaming tech firm turning away from regular PC owners to pursue the more plentiful spending offered by GenAI developers and datacenters. Prices of RAM, SSDs, and graphics cards have been pushed higher thanks to chip makers prioritising hardware that AI firms are buying in large quantities, with the memory crisis looking set to continue for at least the next year.
Micron, Samsung, and SK Hynix have all been accused by a US lawsuit of worsening the crisis through price fixing.
