While the 2024 remaster received a mixed response, the prospect of Juliet’s return after more than a decade has long-time fans buzzing with anticipation.
A New Era for Lollipop Chainsaw
The announcement, which initially caused a stir back in July 2025, confirmed an anime adaptation alongside the sequel. Dragami Games is at the helm of this new project, aiming to capture “the spirit of the original work” while avoiding what they describe as “excessive creative restrictions in the name of DEI.” This statement has already ignited considerable discussion within the gaming community.
Tokyo Game Show 2026: First Look and Playable Demo
After a year of silence, the wait is almost over. Lollipop Chainsaw will make its grand return at Tokyo Game Show 2026! Sega will be distributing the game in Japan and Southeast Asia and will showcase it at their booth. Attendees can expect not only a first look but also a playable demo. Cosplayer PeachyMilky will even be present, dressed as the iconic Juliet Starling!

Who’s Behind the Chainsaw Mayhem?
While Dragami Games handled the recent remaster, it appears that key figures from the original Lollipop Chainsaw won’t be involved in this sequel. The game’s director, Mr. Nasu, will present at a stage show on both Friday and Saturday alongside Hajime Tabata, former Luminous Productions COO and current CEO of JP Universe, who is also leading work on OwnWorld, an AI-driven RPG engine. Grasshopper Manufacture, Suda51, and Tomo Ikeda, the original development team, are not listed among those involved in the sequel.
Dragami Games has assured fans that some individuals with experience from the first game’s development will contribute to this new project, but specific names have yet to be revealed. The promotional image shows Juliet in a more conservative-looking letterman jacket, facing a horde of zombie hands reaching for her.
