Have you ever been watching an anime and felt like you just wanted to step into that world? Well, OOC: The Playable Anime was created to offer exactly that experience, and right now it’s hosting a Halloween event with special rewards that allow newcomers to experience more stories.
For the uninitiated, OOC is interactive storytelling and roleplaying app that lets you become the protagonist and actively participate in how a story unfolds. There’s a preset world with its own lore, characters, and starting point, but where things go from there is based on what you type. You make choices and use custom prompts to shape the story’s twists and turns, and those choices can dramatically alter the characters and story. What if you had the power to determine whether the serial killer in a horror story ultimately wins? You can do that during OOC’s Halloween.
Whatever story and world you choose to dive into, characters remember your previous conversations and decisions, allowing relationships to naturally develop. As the storyline and world are shaped by your choices, scenes become more vivid and immersive thanks to images that reflect how these scenes play out. Every time you experience a story, it’s exclusive to you alone.
Some stories are OOC Originals from the app itself, while others are created by members of the community, which you can do too. There are currently more than 52,000 stories and more than 58,000 characters to interact with.
If you’re looking to experience OOC for yourself, the Halloween event makes for a good starting point. It provides seven free story responses in each eligible OOC Original that you haven’t chatted with before, with no cap on the number of eligible stories you can try. And you can get double check-in credits during October 25-31.
The credit system is what you use to gain access to new stories and worlds. You receive credits for signing up with a new account, as well as additional ones each day you sign in. Using the Basic Model in Character mode is always free, but the deeper narrative Story mode requires credits. So be sure to make the most of your seven free original chats during October 29-November 8 in order to experience more stories.
This being spooky season, the Halloween event is an appropriate time to experience some horror and thriller stories, but there are many more genres available too. That includes fantasy, sci-fi, action, romance, adventure, comedy, and plenty more. You can jump into a high-stakes cyberpunk world where your choices are the difference between success and failure, or you can go with something more low-key, like a slice-of-life story to help you relax after a stressful day.
Regardless of which world you decide to experience, it’s a chance to let your imagination and creativity run wild. That extends to the Character Creator, which is open to everyone and doesn’t require professional coding or writing skills. You can make new characters, create alternate timelines, or come up with your own unique worlds.
You can keep your creations private if you just want to enjoy them on your own, or share them with the community to let them experience them too. Creators earn bonus credits when other users play their content, so there’s a tangible reward for sharing what you make. And you can follow your favorite creators to get updates whenever they make something new.
