Intel has unveiled its latest Arc G-Series processors, targeting the burgeoning handheld gaming PC segment with chips engineered for portable play.
The new lineup debuts with the Intel Arc G3 and Arc G3 Extreme, built on the Core Ultra Series 3 “Panther Lake” architecture and featuring Xe3‑based graphics cores.
Intel claims the processors are fine‑tuned for handheld use, with custom core setups, advanced power management, and gaming‑centric software tweaks.
They support cutting‑edge graphics technologies, including real‑time ray tracing, XeSS 3 AI upscaling, and multi‑frame generation, all designed to deliver smoother, higher‑quality visuals on the go.
Additional features include the new “XBOX mode” for a console‑style Windows 11 interface and Intel Precompiled Shaders, which download optimized shader files from the cloud to reduce load times and stutter.
In a significant development for the gaming industry, Intel has announced that its Arc G-Series processors will incorporate support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity. These chips are manufactured using Intel’s 18A process technology, which is similar to other Panther Lake components.
Notably, several hardware vendor partners such as Acer, MSI, and OneXPlayer are anticipated to launch handheld gaming systems powered by these new processors towards the end of this year. Intel hinted at potential further disclosures during the ongoing Computex 2026.
