Despite receiving less attention than AMD and Nvidia products, Intel’s Arc GPUs continue to show steady performance gains through software updates, according to a report for PC Gamer.
The latest Intel driver release notes claim significant performance improvements in several games. The most notable is a 31% average fps uplift in Resident Evil Requiem at 1080p on medium settings for Core Ultra 2 (Lunar Lake) integrated Arc GPUs, dropping to 29% on high settings.

Other gains include an 18% boost in Assassin’s Creed Shadows at 1080p on high settings and an 11% increase in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla at 1080p on high. Intel Core Ultra Series 3 (Panther Lake) integrated GPUs receive a more modest 5% boost in F1 25 at 1080p on medium settings, while Arc B-series graphics cards gain 6% in both Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Monster Hunter Rise, both at 1440p on high settings.
The report notes that these gains demonstrate a “fine wine” element across Intel’s product stack, though it characterizes the improvement as moving from “temperamental to reliable” rather than “good to great.” PC Gamer has been tracking GPU prices since August 14, 2025.
The article references earlier testing by Dave that concluded the Arc B580 is a strong budget option when functioning properly, but noted games where it underperforms or fails to work entirely. While things have improved, Intel GPUs remain more inconsistent than Nvidia and AMD alternatives.
Both integrated GPU families are described as efficient chips suited for fast laptops, though the report warns of ongoing inconsistency risks in gaming. It observes that Intel’s Arc cards remain among the cheapest modern options and have maintained relatively stable pricing despite broader market pressures.
