Driver Release Notes Claim Significant Uplifts in Select Titles

Intel’s latest driver release notes claim notable performance improvements across its GPU lineup, though the gains vary considerably depending on the hardware generation and game in question. According to the release notes, Core Ultra 2 (Lunar Lake) integrated Arc GPUs see a 31% average fps uplift in Resident Evil Requiem at 1080p on medium settings. That figure drops just a couple of percentage points to 29% when running the same game on high settings.

The driver also reportedly delivers an 18% boost in Assassin’s Creed Shadows at 1080p on high settings, alongside an 11% improvement in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla at 1080p on high settings. Beyond these larger gains, Intel included several smaller boosts across additional titles, though the source does not specify the exact figures for those.

Altro Moderate Gains for Newer and Discrete Arc Hardware

The performance improvements are less dramatic for Intel’s newer integrated graphics. Core Ultra Series 3 (Panther Lake) integrated GPUs receive a more modest 5% boost in F1 25 at 1080p on medium settings. Discrete Arc B-series graphics cards see a 6% uplift in both Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Monster Hunter Rise, measured at 1440p on high settings.

PC Gamer characterizes the overall trend as a ‘fine wine’ element across the Arc stack, though it notes this is less a case of ‘good to great’ and more ‘temperamental to reliable’. The publication’s own testing has found that Intel Arc GPUs remain more inconsistent than their Nvidia and AMD counterparts, with some games performing poorly or failing to work entirely.

Market Position and Pricing Stability

Intel graphics cards are positioned among the cheapest modern options available, and PC Gamer notes they have managed to stave off much of the impact of the GPU shortage. According to price tracking data collected since August 14, 2025, the cheapest Arc B570 and Arc B580 cards have remained relatively stable in price.

The article suggests that owners of either discrete Intel GPUs or integrated Arc graphics may want to test performance in the affected titles after updating. The continued driver improvements are described as encouraging to observe, particularly for older Arc GPUs that continue to receive support.
