Working at the lab in CRACK can get tedious. To automate the boring parts of egg extraction, you can employ two types of Workbots: Collector Bots and Delivery Drones. While they can’t mine the egg for you, they can make the transportation step easier.

How to unlock Workbots in CRACK

Workbots and Workbot Storage unlock as you complete the main objectives in the top left corner of your screen. The objective for the Workbot Storage is to deposit $70 worth of Tissue. Tissue is the red layer past Membrane. To excavate it, you need Shovel Mk 2.

Completing the objective opens the Workbot Storage, where you can purchase Collector Bots and Delivery Drones. Keep in mind that every subsequent Bot or Drone is more expensive. The first one costs $100, the second $150, the third $200, and so on.

Each Workbot type has its own job and operates autonomously. There are no controls to make them do anything specific. After purchasing a Workbot, give it a few minutes to activate and start gathering resources or delivering buckets.

Here’s what each Workbot type does:

• Collector Bots: Find an empty bucket and fill it with resources.
• Delivery Drones: Pick up full buckets and bring them to the Resource Depot.

As Workbots work, their condition goes down. Once depleted, the Workbots break down and need to be repaired with a Wrench.

Unlike the vehicles in CRACK, you can’t buy upgrades for Bots and Drones with cash. Instead, you need to dig up Chalazite crystals from the egg. Chalazite comes in different colors—each color upgrades the Workbot by a certain number of levels (the Workbot’s maximum level is five). Grab the Chalazite and interact with the Workbot to upgrade it.
