You’ll likely encounter Final Fantasy Resonance‘s sealed stone early on, depending on how far off the beaten path you wander. A genuinely valuable prize awaits inside—but you can’t reach it for quite some time. That’s for the best, really: you have to fight for it, and it’s a fairly demanding battle.

Below, we explain how to open the sealed stone in Final Fantasy Resonance and what awaits you inside.
How to open the sealed stone in Final Fantasy Resonance
Resonance goes out of its way to make sure you know the sealed stone exists. An NPC with an exclamation mark in Kol talks about it, and it’s mentioned in one of the Zoldaad news bulletins. All of this is optional, though, and if you’re focused on the main story, it’s easy to miss the stone’s existence entirely—which means missing out on Titan, a powerful Esper.
The sealed stone sits in the north-central desert of Grandshelt, southeast of the Cavern of Swords and northwest of Kol. You’ll need the Gaia Hammer to crack it open, though.
The only way to obtain the Gaia Hammer is by completing the Fledgling-rank gladiator trials in Grandshelt. Those aren’t available until restoration work progresses in Grandshelt, but you can start challenging them once you begin Chapter 4. You can technically finish the full Fledgling set before completing the main story quests in Zoldaad, but the last two fights are quite tough unless you’re around level 30.
You’ll need a decent elemental spread that includes fire, water, ice, and light, and it wouldn’t hurt to bring some mist restorative items along either. Noctis, Tronn, Squall (for Jake, since he’s the party Commando with higher strength), and Cecil are good Vision choices here, though since nothing has dark resistance, Shantotto is a decent call as well. None of these enemies are classed as bosses, so Shantotto’s Salvation Scythe can still inflict debuffs on them. Having Fina in the party to cast Світла Veil is a big help in the final battle, too, where you’re frequently beset by poison. It won’t help with the Ahriman casting Doom, but it does at least stave off the five stacks of poison per hit that the dinosaur can inflict.
If you just want a new Esper early, or you’re struggling to clear those fights, you can always drop the difficulty level and then raise it again after you get the Gaia Hammer.
Once you’ve got it, head to the stone in the desert. Before you interact with it and release Titan, though, make sure you’re prepped for a battle against a foe weak to wind and resistant to earth. There’s no chance to swap Visions or equipment after busting the stone.
