•Ambers are rare gems that players can equip in Valor Mortis to gain passive bonuses and abilities. They are slotted through the level-up menu at any lantern, with a new slot unlocking every ten levels.
You will most likely find your first amber before you are actually able to equip it. The game features a fairly simplistic skill tree focused around passive buffs, so ambers add extra variety to a build rather than forming its core.
An amber can be equipped once you reach Level 5 by leveling up at any lantern. When you enter the level-up menu, notice that a slot with a + symbol has unlocked on the bottom layer—click it and select the amber you want to equip. Ambers can be swapped at any time.
After unlocking the first slot, additional slots open at the following levels:
- Slot two: Level 15
- Slot three: Level 25
- Slot four: Level 35
- Slot five: Level 45
This means there are five amber slots overall. New ambers generally come from quests and chests, and any amber you already own will level up to provide a more powerful passive bonus when you acquire another copy of it.
