British singer Cliff Richard is experiencing an unexpected resurgence at 86 after one of his older songs appeared in the GTA 6 Extended Look on Netflix, though it seems the entire Rockstar Giochi phenomenon has gone over his head.

“Devil Woman,” a 1976 single from his album I’m Nearly Famous, previously saw a boost in popularity when it featured in the 2017 film I, Tonya. But nothing compares to GTA 6, a game widely anticipated to be the biggest entertainment launch in history.
Since the Extended Look, Devil Woman has seen a 325% increase in daily streams. The singer himself doesn’t quite grasp what’s happening.

In an interview with The Times, Richard admitted he didn’t know what Grand Theft Automatico was, despite Rockstar paying to feature it on the extensive GTA 6 soundtrack.
“I was told this happened!” he said. “My nephew, who has two boys, said they came screaming to him, ‘Dad, it’s Uncle Cliff!’ They didn’t realise I could sing like that. The show is a game show, isn’t it, really? One of the biggest on TV?”
He got the word “game” right, so let’s give him that. The man is 86, after all. Even if he doesn’t fully understand the scope of what’s going on, he’s happy that his music remains relevant in 2026.
“People will no longer just say, ‘Oh, Cliff Richard is from the past,'” he said. “Because I am, but that past is what makes everything what it is today.”
Rockstar recently revealed some of the musical tracks players will hear while cruising around Vice City, across its GTA 6 radio stations and song list. Alongside the oldies, there will be tracks from contemporary music legends such as Yung Lean and Travis Scott.
GTA 6 is scheduled for launch on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.
