Lucia’s Prologue: A Glimpse into the Past
On August 26th, Cyberleek unleashed another wave of Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks. This leak focuses on the prologue to the highly anticipated open-world game. It features Lucia, a character previously unseen in most of the other leaked content. A Familiar Prison
The leaked prologue shows Lucia incarcerated, which isn’t surprising given that one of the earliest glimpses we received of Grand Theft Auto 6 featured Lucia in an orange prison jumpsuit. The leak reveals more about Lucia’s backstory, but much of the clip takes place within that same prison seen back in 2023 during the initial trailer. It’s ironic that many first encountered Lucia in prison through a different leak – one that saw the official trailer surface less than 24 hours before Rockstar planned to release it, forcing an early reveal. Now, three years later, we’re watching Lucia in that same prison and outfit, courtesy of yet another leak.
Cyberleek’s Message: Is the Game Ready?
Within the leaked prologue, Cyberleek included a new message displayed on-screen. The leaker claims the build is “actually recent” and asserts that Grand Theft Auto 6 isn’t “ready at all” for release. This fuels speculation about the game’s development status and potential delays.
“This build is actually recent, and the game is not ready at all,” claimed Cyberleek in the leaked prologue. “Sony and Rockstar are killing your right to own and resell your games. And Rockstar is killing their own employees, too. The work required to reach gold is way too much for so little time left.”
Desperation or Calculated Move?
Of course, we can’t definitively confirm Cyberleek’s claims. Many online believe the hacker, currently being hunted by online sleuths and Take-Two lawyers, might be feeling the pressure as the official gameplay reveal on August 27th approaches. Once that reveal happens, Cyberleek’s leaked gameplay videos of Grand Theft Auto 6 might lose their appeal to players. This could impact his crypto token, something Cyberleek likely wants to avoid. Posting story spoilers could artificially inflate demand, although many online are unhappy with the leaker’s decision to reveal crucial plot points.
Rockstar’s Response and What’s Next
“While it is unfortunate that the intended game experience may now be impacted by some spoilers, we hope that everyone will wait a bit longer to experience the game for themselves on November 19,” said Rockstar on Wednesday. The company also uncharacteristically apologized for the lack of official information.
