•Rockstar Gry released the launch trailer for GTA 6 on Thursday, marking the fourth official video look at the game and its first since August’s Extended Look premiered on Netflix.
The GTA 6 launch trailer runs exactly 90 seconds and offers a closer look at in-game action alongside new soundtrack composers. While much of what is shown aligns with typical Grand Theft Automatycznie series content, several additions hint toward the game’s realism.
The trailer confirms that Lucia begins her journey incarcerated. Working at a marina, Jason receives a call from her while she remains in prison, suggesting the two have stayed in contact and he is tracking her release date.
Jason and Lucia share moments of physical intimacy, including scenes together in bed and in the shower. The emphasis on intimacy alongside violent sequences adds depth to their relationship, which appears central to the game’s events. It remains unclear whether these are player choices or scripted narrative elements, especially since Rockstar has emphasized that Jason and Lucia aren’t necessarily a couple.
Lucia wears an ankle monitor during one shower scene, suggesting her prison release may come with conditions such as curfews or residence requirements. The same ankle monitor appears in some of the game’s key art.
The trailer hints at Jason’s military past, showing him wading through swamp-like waters with companions and high-tech gear including night-vision goggles. This could appear as a flashback mission or present-day stealth operation once he and Lucia begin earning money.
A PS5 controller appears for the second time in a GTA 6 trailer, though the DualSense doesn’t match the limited edition GTA 6 controllers Sony recently opened preorders for.
One dog featured in the trailer wears its own tiny goggles, accompanying Jason on missions. Players already know they can pet dogs in GTA 6 per you can pet the dog in GTA 6.
A scene showing two characters in pink balaclavas wielding guns may reference the movie Spring Breakers, which features women with similar headwear and firearms.
Vice City beaches appear densely populated, consistent with prior leaks. It is unknown whether flying a plane this low will earn Wanted stars.
A plane featuring what sounds like a crypto coin suggests cryptocurrency may feature in GTA 6’s satire.
The trailer includes movie references beyond Spring Breakers. An early sign shows The Keys, while a background road sign points to Goose Key, a Top Gun reference. This follows a recent screenshot appeared to reference Pulp Fiction.
