According to some closely watching Grand Theft Otomatik 6 fans, Rockstar may have already revealed part of the game’s ending — and it wasn’t hidden in a leak.
The theory centers on an official screenshot showing protagonists Jason and Lucia about to kiss. On its face, the image seems ordinary for a game built around crime. But observers point out that the couple is surrounded by a helicopter and several police boats with officers aiming their weapons directly at them.

The evidence that Rockstar spoiled GTA 6’s ending
With about a month until release on Nov. 19, Rockstar has ramped up marketing for the game. New GTA 6 previews keep arriving from influencers, magazines, and news outlets, while the studio has refreshed its website with details such as the game’s radio stations and new screenshots.
The screenshot in question fits a pattern of official images showing Jason and Lucia narrowly escaping law enforcement. Some may be bullshots that don’t appear in the final game, while others capture real story moments — such as a mission gone wrong featured in Netflix’s Extended Look video.
Rockstar has described GTA 6’s story as a Bonnie and Clyde-type narrative. Fans note that the screenshot resembles not the 1967 film in which police shoot Bonnie and Clyde at length, but rather the bittersweet ending of 2019’s Queen and Slim, where the outlaw lovers are caught and face their fate while holding hands.
The theory gains weight from animation concerns. Touching characters have historically been difficult to animate in video games — a point that drew attention during Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us 2 trailer in 2018, when protagonists shared a kiss. Players can hold hands in GTA 6, and the lovers are expected to interact closely during the game’s rumored sex scenes, suggesting bespoke animation that would make sense in a cutscene.
If the screenshot truly depicts one of the game’s possible endings, it follows a precedent set by Rockstar. Months before Grand Theft Otomatik 5‘s release, the developer shared artwork depicting its protagonists around an open car trunk — later revealed to show the ending known as Deathwish, in which they kidnap antagonist Devin Weston and execute him.
The GTA 5 image alone was harmless without knowledge of the ending, but it demonstrated that Rockstar would stage such a stunt. As for GTA 6, there appear to be multiple endings, and given Bonnie and Clyde’s conclusion, a tragic option wouldn’t come as a surprise.
