Grid Legends Servers to Shut Down on PS & Xbox This Year

Electronic Arts has confirmed that the online servers for Grid Legends will be decommissioned later this year.

Developed by Codemasters and launched in February 2022, the racing title featured a narrative campaign titled Driven to Glory, complete with live‑action cutscenes.

According to a recent update on EA’s Online Services Shutdown page—tracked by Delisted Games—the list of titles whose servers have been retired now includes Grid Legends, slated for shutdown on September 11.

While EA has not released further details, the shutdown will likely render the multiplayer component inaccessible, though the single‑player experience may remain available for those who still own the game.

The announcement specifically mentions “Grid Legends for Xbox One, Xbox X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5,” leaving uncertainty about how other editions—such as the Steam release—will be impacted.

In a notable move, a Deluxe Edition of Grid Legends launched on Switch 2 in January, and it appears that this version will likely maintain online capabilities, as it will be only eight months old when the shutdown occurs on PlayStation and Xbox platforms.

VGC’s review of Grid Legends describes it as a “perfectly perfunctory title” that “fails to rise above Codemasters’ other racing gems.”
