ENGLISH DESCRIPTION:
Loosely based on the 17th century corrido written by José de la Cruz, Adarna follows the journey of Prince Juan and his two older brothers, Princes Pedro and Diego. The King of Berbanya has fallen sick and the only cure for his disease is a song from the legendary Adarna Bird. One by one, the older brothers set off in search for the creature but the years pass by without them returning. Juan then decides to take matters into his own hands and convinces his parents — afraid for their remaining son — to let him go on the same quest.

Maluwag na ibinatay sa koridong isinulat ni José de la Cruz noong ika-17 na siglo, sinusundan ngAdarna ang paglalakbay ni Prinsipe Juan at ng kangyang mga kapatid na sina Prinsipe Pedro at Prinsipe Diego. Tinamaan ng malubhang karamdaman ang Hari ng Berbanya, ngunit ang natatanging panlunas lamang dito ay ang awit ng maalamat na Ibong Adarna. Paisa-isang umalis sina Pedro at Diego upang hanapin ang ibon, ngunit ilang taon ang nakalipas at hindi pa rin sila nakakabalik. Nagpasya si Juan na gumawa ng sariling paraan at kinumbinsi ang kanyang mga magulang — na natatakot para sa kanilang natitirang anak — na hayaan siyang tahakin ang landas na pinagdaanan ng kanyang mga kuya.
