Forza Horizon 6 has been delayed to 2027 on PlayStation 5. The console version, which was expected this year after the PC and Xbox versions launched in May, will now release on 26 January.
The announcement came via Playground Games’ Forza website, according to reports confirming earlier speculation about a delay. The reports were correct.
Forza Horizon 6 will launch on PS5 on 26 January, with the option of early access from 21 January for those who purchase a Premium Edition, which costs £110.
The game’s first paid expansion arrives on the same day as early access, 21 January, and will be included with the Premium Edition. A free update for all other players is also scheduled for that date, though no further details about either release have been provided yet.
A pre-order trailer shows the PS5 version delivering 30FPS at 4K in Quality mode and 60FPS in Performance mode. Cross-platform play and cross-saves are supported, allowing players on different platforms to compete together and carry progress between them, with user-made content such as liveries and tuning setups also available across platforms.
“I think Horizon 6 is the highlight in a pantheon of already great racing experiences,” Dom wrote in their review. “It’s taken 14 years to get here, but I think Forza Horizon 6 finally delivers on the promises the original game made, way back in October 2012.”
