BYOVD’s been my rabbit hole for months, and I want to understand where this cat-and-mouse is actually heading. The core mechanic—abusing a legitimately signed driver from a vendor like Razer, Corsair, or a GPU utility to grab a kernel read/write primitive—never really died, it just evolved. My question for people who’ve actually tracked the detection side: how much have things like Sysmon’s driver-load events and ETW provider logging actually degraded the blast radius of classic BYOVD? I’ve seen claims that once you’re whitelisting by publisher, the game’s basically over, but every year we still see new signed drivers getting weaponized. Is blacklisting by signature hash fundamentally stale, or are we in a lull before the next wave?
